I want to let all of you know that I will be retiring in June 2025. I have loved my time here as Principal at William Reid. I have made the decision to spend more time with my family and friends skiing and biking after a long and rewarding career in Education.

Dear Staff and Parents/Guardians
On behalf of the Calgary Board of Education, I am writing to share the bittersweet news that Principal Christine Stiles will be retiring from William Reid School, effective June 27, 2025. While we are happy for her as she prepares to begin her next exciting new chapter, her leadership and presence will be greatly missed by all of us who have had the honor of working and learning alongside her.
Throughout her remarkable 30-year career, Principal Stiles has made a lasting, positive difference in the William Reid community. Her vision and forward view of continually advocating for the French Immersion program and providing the best instructional practice for students is noteworthy. I especially appreciated Principal Stiles’ leadership, consistently guided by integrity, empathy, and an unwavering dedication to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and forward-thinking environment where every student can thrive.
Prior to the end of June, our HR Spring Staffing processes will engage and the next principal for William Reid will be selected. The CBE welcomes input from parents, students and staff. Below you will find a link to a brief survey which will allow you to share your thoughts about what you value in a principal and in the school culture at William Reid.
